Great to be at the Smart Water Systems Conference this week and to speak with so many across the sector! We focused on a simple question. As quality assurance becomes a reality, is the industry ready? A few themes came through clearly. The sector has made real progress through smart metering, building strong foundations in connectivity and data. However, visibility across networks is still incomplete, confidence in data remains a concern, and communications infrastructure is not always consistent.  The challenge ahead is not just about increasing the number of devices. It is about ensuring the systems behind them can deliver continuous, reliable, and trusted data at scale. We have been exploring this in more detail through an industry-wide survey with Utility Week, capturing how utilities view their readiness for Open Monitoring.
