❗ English version below Tijdens de tweedaagse workshop 'Mentale gezondheid op het werk' Global Leadership Exchange in Ottowa, Canada, deelden Pleuni Corton en Melina Kappeyne van de Coppello-Rakic kennis met Canadese, Australische en Britse leiders en inspireerden we elkaar in strategieën voor duurzame inzetbaarheid van zorgprofessionals en hoog risico beroepen. ✅ We presenteerden de ‘Beleidsrichtlijn psychosociale ondersteuning voor zorgprofessionals’ en de ‘Richtlijn psychosociale ondersteuning binnen hoog risico beroepen’. Dit inspireerde de deelnemers en bevestigde daarmee ook de koers die wij varen in het ondersteunen van organisaties. ✅ We zijn gesterkt in onze overtuiging dat het scheppen van een zorgzame werkomgeving de belangrijkste voorwaarde is voor het realiseren van strategische doelen. Dit vraagt een 'shared priority' van de hele organisatie. Het sleutelwoord voor succes hierin is leiderschap en de verantwoordelijkheid die daarbij hoort. 'A strategic goal without an action plan is just a wish'. ✅ Daarnaast waren we getuige van een bijzonder helend proces in Canada over de geschiedenis van geweld tegen en achterstelling van de 'first nations' bewoners. During the two-day workshop “Mental Health at Work” at the Global Leadership Exchange, Ottawa, Canada, Pleuni Corton en Melina Kappeyne van de Coppello-Rakic shared knowledge with Canadian, Australian and British leaders and inspired one another in developing strategies for the sustainable employability of healthcare professionals and those working in high-risk occupations. ✔️ We presented two ARQ National Psychotrauma guidelines: the ‘Policy Guideline on Psychosocial Support for Healthcare Professionals’ and the ‘Guideline on Psychosocial Support within High-Risk Occupations’. These inspired the participants and reaffirmed our strategic orientation we are taking in supporting organisations. ✔️ We were strengthened in our belief that fostering a supportive and psychologically safe work environment is the most important prerequisite for achieving strategic goals. This requires a shared priority across the entire organisation. The key word for success in this regard is leadership, and the responsibility that comes with it. “A strategic goal without an action plan is just a wish.” ✔️ In addition, we witnessed a particularly healing process in Canada concerning the history of violence against, and marginalisation of, First Nations peoples.
