This week's Monday Editorial is a joint production with HUB/ART. The subject: Bottega Veneta's institutional strategy across Venice, Seoul and Bangkok three exhibitions in one season, three independent curatorial partners, zero brand presence inside the work itself. We call the mechanism Cultural Collateral: the deliberate practice of posting financial and reputational capital against the curatorial authority of external institutions, in exchange for a transfer of legitimacy that a house without a living founder-myth cannot generate internally. The Bangkok Kunsthalle show "Weaving Matter and Memory", four Thai artists, curated by Somsuda Piamsumrit is the clearest specimen. None of the artists makes work about handbags. That is precisely the point. One exhibition is an activation. Three in one season, each ceding curatorial authority to an independent institution, is a doctrine. Full analysis — including the bull/bear breakdown and framework distinction from Mausoleum Economy and Genius Lock in the editorial linked below. https://lnkd.in/esE3ByXi #LuxuryStrategy #BottegaVeneta #CulturalCollateral #MondayEditorial #HUBART #LuxuryAnalysis #FashionCapital #BangkokKunsthalle #VeniceBiennale #LeeumMuseum #BrandStrategy #InstitutionalCapital
