Today's Supreme Court ruling in Mullin v. Doe is a moral catastrophe dressed in legal language. The Court did not find Haiti or Syria is safe. It found that the question is beyond its reach. That distinction matters — and it should trouble every person in this country. At ARISE, we have walked alongside TPS holders in Worcester for years. These are our neighbors, our colleagues, our community members — parents of U.S.-born children, healthcare workers, homeowners who have contributed everything and asked only for the chance to stay safe. The State Department tells American citizens not to travel to Haiti. Today, the Supreme Court says Haitians must go back. We reject that logic. And we refuse to accept that this is the end. The ruling has not yet taken effect. Every TPS holder still has rights — including the right to due process. We urge every affected family to connect with legal counsel immediately. We call on Senators Warren and Markey to act urgently on H.R. 1689, the legislation passed by the House to extend Haitian TPS by three years. We call on the Healey administration to fully resource the Massachusetts Access to Council initiative. And we call on our community to stand — together, loudly, and without apology.
