Agentic AI finds cancer biomarkers in routine pathology slides A Nature Medicine study presents SPARK, a multi-agent AI framework that can generate biomarker hypotheses and test them on cancer tissue data. The system was validated across 18 cohorts, 5 cancer types, and 5,400+ patients using standard histological images reviewed in labs. SPARK identified image-based signals for: → Prognosis & tumor staging (aggressiveness, lymph node involvement) → Treatment selection (immunotherapy response, DNA repair defects, viral status, hormone sensitivity) This news shows that AI agents could turn existing histopathology archives into a discovery engine for oncology biomarkers, helping R&D teams find patient stratification and treatment-response patterns faster.
