๐…๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐ž๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž: ๐ซ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ฅ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐„๐‡๐ƒ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐ข๐ง ๐‹๐จ๐ง๐๐จ๐ง Weโ€™ve just returned from two inspiring days at the European Healthcare Design 2026 conference in London, where we had the opportunity to share how research and practice come together in our work at archipelago. CARING NATURE research project, exploring the intersection of energy performance and wellbeing, was at the heart of our contribution. In the "Art and architecture" stream, our colleagues Laurent Grisay and Giulia Scialpi presented how architectural levers in inpatient room design can support patient wellbeing while significantly reducing a hospitalโ€™s carbon impact. The Groupe hospitalier CHIREC project served as a concrete example of how these ideas move from theory to practice. ๐Ÿ† We are also honoured that the AZ Diest (General Hospital Diest) project, designed in collaboration with Gortemaker Algra Feenstra architects, M-gineers and Ontwerpbureau Pauwels, is laureate in the "๐ƒ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฅ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ž-๐ฌ๐œ๐š๐ฅ๐ž ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก๐œ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ข๐ง๐Ÿ๐ซ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž" ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐„๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐š๐ง ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก๐œ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, a strong encouragement to keep pushing for human-centred, sustainable healthcare architecture. ๐Ÿค Thank you to all the peers, clients and partners we met in London for the rich conversations on how design can help shape healthier futures. ๐Ÿ“ธ Photos by Eric BERTEAU and Antoine BUISSERET #EHD2026 #HealthcareDesign #SustainableArchitecture
