"I'm a climber first, then a designer." Mike Foley said it on the floor of our China Museum Exhibition in Shanghai. It's the kind of line the whole exhibition is built around. The space opens in British Columbia's Coast Mountain range — rainforests, glaciers, snowfields — through a film installation that grounds everything in the landscapes that shaped the brand. From there, it moves to the designers, developers, and athletes whose obsessive approach and in-situ testing keep the product moving forward. Then to community: the evolution of Arc'teryx Academies, with a focus on China's climbing and mountain community. And finally ahead — to what comes next. The exhibition is called "This is Who We Are." Mountains. Designers who climb. Athletes who test.
