🌧️ Regional voices belong in this conversation 🌧️ ARC Justice Climate Justice Lead Jack Piper recently joined the delegation behind the Housing Resilience Action Plan 2030 in Canberra, meeting with federal decision-makers about the growing insurance and housing resilience challenges facing disaster-prone communities. The group briefed crossbench MPs Kate Chaney MP, Monique Ryan, Zali Steggall OAM MP and Nicolette Boele, along with Dr Daniel Mulino, as well as wider industry and peak bodies. The Housing Resilience Action Plan 2030 (https://shorturl.at/dkTXe) was developed by Monash University, Financial Rights Legal Centre, Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic), Resilient Building Council, Finity and ARC Justice. The plan cites ARC Justice's Impossible Decisions report (https://shorturl.at/8ScRm), which captured the experiences of people across north-central Victoria facing rising premiums, reduced cover and growing anxiety about what future disasters could mean for their homes and communities. For many regional households, this is no longer just an insurance issue. It's a housing, recovery and community resilience issue too. #HousingResilience #RegionalVictoria #InsuranceCrisis #ImpossibleDecisions #FloodRecovery #ClimateJustice Kristy McBain MP Kate Cotter Sharanjit Paddam Kellie Davis Vicki Mullen GAICD Julia Davis Kane Chapman
