Renters’ experiences of housing precarity and climate disaster – launched recently. Drawing on interviews with renters and support organisations after the 2022 floods, the report examines how housing precarity shapes recovery in regional communities, where tight rental markets and limited supply leave little room to move. It shows renters are often navigating decisions they don’t control, from whether a home is repaired to whether they can remain in it at all, with some forced to leave and others staying in conditions that aren’t safe.
