Passages of Enclosure ARCH/INT 261 For the course Digital Thinking , 2nd-Year students explored the architectural passage as more than a mere connector between rooms or realms. They investigate the passage as a spatial narrative—one of movement, rhythm, and transformation. Inspired by architectural theory, these projects delve into the liminality of transitional space, where architecture becomes both a guide and an experience. In this spirit, students were asked to design a unique architectural passage using a combination of Surface Generation and Constructive Solid Geometry 3D-modelling techniques learned throughout the course. The starting point of each design was a pathway—its curvature defining the essence of the journey to be translated into architectural form. Students learned how to turn their digital model into a physical one, by fabricating the contours, using the lab's laser cutting equipment.
