Usually people post this when they leave a company. Although I’m not leaving PostNL, I did leave the Webshop team. Grateful. Proud. And with a little pain in my orange (and maybe also slightly fuchsia-red) heart. In 2014, I got to know Drecomm (now Youwe). Back then, I was literally sitting side by side with Freek and Ramon building Christmas pages. And that was just the beginning. Together with Michiel, Patrick, Ali, Jarmo, Lukas, Fabrice, Dima, Jelle, Juran, Katharina, Jorn, Arnoud, Elze and so many others, we went on a journey — from early versions to the brand-new webshop that’s now live. From launching the first Magento PWA in Europe to merging four shops into one. And now: a fully revamped webshop. None of this would have been possible without you. What we’ve achieved with such a small team is truly special. And that’s because we understand each other. It was never just about code. There was always room for open conversations — even when things didn’t go so well. Youwe was never just a supplier. You’ve been colleagues. Friends, even. Drinks at Mingle Mush or Xieje. Elze coming all the way to Alphen to help with my motorbike. Meeting your partners. Friday afternoon calls with Juran — diving into work, but always touching on life too. I’m not leaving PostNL — just moving on to a new challenge: working on a knowledge management system with AI functionalities. But that means I won’t be in the webshop trenches with you day-to-day, and I’ll definitely miss that. Luckily, with Thomas as new Product Owner, you’re an even stronger team and in great hands.
