It was a pleasure to have Salt Security as the Senior Supporter at the National Canada Transformation Assembly, hosted in Toronto, on June 17. Devin Poulter, Director of Sales East, Salt Security, presented on “Agentic Security starts with Actions .” As enterprises accelerate adoption of AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, they are unintentionally creating a new execution layer inside their environment. Every agent action, every orchestration workflow, and every automated decision runs on APIs. This emerging AI-driven API fabric is dynamic, distributed, and largely invisible to traditional security tools. In this session, Michael Callahan of Salt Security will explore how organizations can confidently scale agentic AI by gaining visibility into this action layer, governing it continuously, and protecting it in real time. Key Takeaways: • AI Agents Expand the Attack Surface : How autonomous agents and MCP servers are rapidly increasing internal API traffic and creating new security blind spots. • Discovery is the Foundation: Why you cannot secure what you cannot see and how continuous API and MCP discovery exposes shadow, zombie, and unmanaged endpoints. • Posture Gaps Become Agent Risk: How misconfigurations, over-permissioned APIs, and drift compound risk in AI-driven environments. • Runtime Context Matters: Why valid traffic can still be malicious and how context-aware protection detects logic abuse across the API fabric. • From API Security to AI Execution Security: How unifying discovery, governance, and protection creates a secure control plane for the AI Action Layer.
