Who owns biosecurity in an increasingly interconnected world? That question was at the center of our latest APCO x WORLD.MINDS salon in New York, hosted by APCO’s Executive Director James Robinson and WORLD.MINDS CEO Corinna Hoyer, bringing together scientists, investors, policymakers and industry leaders for a cross-sector exchange. Drawing on global perspectives across geopolitics, economics and strategic advisory, the conversation explored how biosecurity is no longer confined to public health—it now sits at the intersection of trust, governance, industrial resilience and national competitiveness. The discussion also raised key open questions, including the role of regulation, independent oversight and how the private sector can help build stronger standards and resilience. As Jonathan Haidt, Professor of Ethical Leadership at NYU Stern, noted in closing, the answers may ultimately depend on how the next generation approaches trust, risk and responsibility. Many thanks to all who joined for such an open and engaging exchange. #Geopolitics #PublicAffairs #EconomicSecurity #BuildingUncommonGround
