APB @ PGEU General Assembly in Wrocław We are taking part in the Pharmaceutical Group of the European Union (PGEU) General Assembly to represent Belgian community pharmacists at European level. On the agenda: 🟢 reform of European pharmaceutical legislation 🟢 European Health Data Space (EHDS) 🟢 digitalisation, AI and medicine shortages 🟢 pharmacy remuneration These topics have a direct impact on pharmacists and the organisation of healthcare, including in Belgium. We are also drawing inspiration from Member States on how pharmacy systems are evolving to respond to changing healthcare needs: ▪️ In France, a thoroughly revised code of ethics for pharmacists was presented, focusing on professional independence, communication and social responsibility. ▪️Croatia showcased an innovative, data-driven system for monitoring and predicting medicine shortages, with pharmacists playing a central role in collaboration with all stakeholders. ▪️In Ireland, a significant step has been taken towards prescribing rights for pharmacists through the introduction of a ‘Common Conditions Service’, as part of a phased expansion of their clinical role. APB closely follows and contributes to these developments to continue ensuring strong and accessible pharmaceutical care in Belgium.
