I am delighted to share that my research paper has been published: “Identifying Critical Barriers to Industry 5.0 Adoption in Last-Mile Delivery Operations Using DEMATEL Analysis. (DOI: https://lnkd.in/dPR82JnR)” At the heart of every supply chain lies a common objective—delivering value to the customer. While every stage of the supply chain contributes to this goal, last-mile delivery has one of the greatest influences on customer experience, making it a critical driver of customer satisfaction and business success. As supply chains evolve towards Industry 5.0, the challenge is no longer just adopting new technologies—it’s understanding the organizational and operational barriers that determine whether these technologies can truly create value. Our research explores these challenges in the context of last-mile delivery, one of the most dynamic and customer-critical stages of the supply chain. Using the DEMATEL methodology, we identified the key barriers influencing Industry 5.0 adoption, including organizational resistance, workforce skill gaps, technology integration challenges, and digital maturity. The study also highlights the critical role of data governance, interoperability, and human–robot collaboration in enabling resilient, intelligent, and human-centric logistics systems. Although the research is centered on last-mile delivery, its insights extend across the entire supply chain. Whether it’s planning, manufacturing, inventory management, logistics, or delivery, the objective remains the same: leveraging technology to drive continuous improvement, strengthen operational resilience, and deliver greater value to customers. Since joining my role in End-to-End Supply Planning, I’ve been able to view these concepts through a practical lens. Working across customer order management, production planning, inventory planning, order processing, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) has reinforced how closely connected every stage of the supply chain is. This experience has given me a broader perspective on day-to-day operations, strengthened my analytical approach to solving business challenges, and deepened my appreciation for how upstream planning decisions shape downstream outcomes. I’m sincerely grateful to Dr. Saurabh Pratap Sir, Dr Kumar Rohit Sir, and Rita Nagwal for their invaluable mentorship and guidance throughout this research journey. Their support has been instrumental in both this publication and my growth as a supply chain professional. I am also enormously thankful to Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, for giving me such an opportunity. Looking forward to continuing my journey of learning, research, and contributing to the future of digital, resilient, and customer-centric supply chains. #ResearchPublication #Industry50 #SupplyChainManagement #SupplyPlanning #SOP #InventoryPlanning #DigitalTransformation #LastMileDelivery #Operations #SupplyChainAnalytics
