To all the execs on LinkedIn that complain about cold calls/emails/DMs: Please go ahead and tell your internal business partners to stop doing it first. I don't need: - A home refinance - A new credit card - A new car - A new financial advisor - New servers for my business - Another high yield savings account - To get signed up for another newsletter or "information update" - Etc It's really cute when I see execs cry about cold outreach when it's your very companies that literally designed the playbook...and then perfected it. I mean...for example...Merrill Lynch Wealth Management trainees are literally instructed to now focus on LinkedIn messages instead of cold phone calls...you can pretty much pick any large company and there will be something comparable. To paraphrase the movie Lord of War: Your boss/company does more in a day than most startups combined do in a year...let that sink in. Especially if your in a B2B enterprise...your salary is paid for, in part, by sales generated from cold outreach. We should play a game. Every exec who ever makes a post complaining about it...we should collectively forward ALL the cold outreach we receive from THEIR employer to them. Most sellers won't say this because they still want your business so they feel like they can't call you out. Guess who DGAF. Me. 😀 If I ever did...please give it back. 🤣😂😁 I'm actually good with receiving cold outreach. I always have been since I did it as a part time job when I was in the Air Force and I respect that it's a hard grind. So again, to those crying about it; recognize that your enterprise was/is literally built on it too. I'd challenge you to find any large company that does zero cold outreach either via email, calls, DMs, flyers, etc etc. I'd also bet that your call centers and spend on cold outreach is EXPONENTIALLY larger than any startup vendor that's reaching out to you. Oh...my bad...you probably didn't know your business well enough to know that though. 🤣 Any data nerds out there want to do a research project on this, I'd be happy to fund it. Would be great to reply to every execs whine posts with the stats of how much cold outreach their company does.🤓 #ciso #riskmanagement #digitalmarketing #informationsecurity
