Today, in our series of international colleagues in the spotlight: Witold Rusin from Antea Group Poland. 👷🏽 Current job I am the director of the Energy Department at Antea Group Poland. I am in charge of project execution, but I am also engaged in business development both in Poland and in CEE countries. Our activities include multidisciplinary and integrated services in the #Energy, #Infrastructure, #Water, and #Environment industries. 🌍 International career My professional career of more than 25 years focuses on engineering consulting services. Besides large-scale projects in my home country, I have cooperated with engineers and consultants from all over the world in interesting and challenging ventures. That also includes partnerships with leading international consulting firms. I am a mechanical engineer by training, then earned extensive knowledge from international professors and fellow students during my Executive MBA program. 💡 Key ingredients for successful international projects Delivering successful international projects requires not only a high level of skills, but also a specific approach acquired by working in terra incognita. I find the following aspects to be the most crucial: 🔹 understanding the local market and culture is a must 🔹 appreciating the differences between countries (administrative, cultural, economic, and geographic) 🔹 building up trust with the client by visiting the client and project site on a regular basis 🔹 using and integrating local resources into the team, finding reliable partners 🔹 building confidence among team members 🔹 creating good communication channels, especially when working remotely 🔹 managing additional risks arising from alien situations 🔹 taking care of stakeholders #projectmanagement #internationalprojectmanagement #engineeringmanagement #engineeringconsultancy #energyefficiency #energyconsultant #energytransition #cleanenergy
