“ In memoriam “ A many years ago to this very first quarter of the 21st era , people in all around the world were very delighted in front of all of these man-made masterpieces; very long spanning bridges structures, vaulted structures, building structures and so one … But there is a very passionate history hiding behind all of these, lots of pioneers long ago ,in different places ( countries) , had dared coming with their prestigious ideas , inspired either by the nature or an elder master , a tutor . As far as we can go , let us begin with those great men and women ; in the first ring we have : Thomas Telford ( 1757-1834), Benjamin Baker , Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Robert Stephenson ; as the pioneers of Iron and Steel Bridges . At the top of the second ring we count : John Augustus Roebling, Washington Roebling,Emily Roebling, Othman Amman, Whilhelm Ritter, Gustav Lindenthal etc.. represent the performer of structural Art . Robert Maillard ( 1872-1940) the pioneer of reinforced concrete Bridge and very well recognized for one of his masterpieces “ the Salginatobel bridge” Coming then : Eugene Freyssinet , Guvtav Magnel, Ulrich Finster Walder, Christian Menn , Pierre Lardy , are the pioneers of prestressed concrete . And then we an named : Anton Tedesko, Frantz Dischinger, Pier Luigi Nervi, Raphaël Guastavino Moreno, Antonio Guadi , Eduardo Torroja, Felix Candela etc …as the pioneers of Vaulted structures . This list could never be considered as exhaustive, beside all of those men and women and many others through the age until Our era , had marked their time and their civilization.
