🌏 On the occasion of the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to #India, Claire Giry, President and CEO of the ANR, delivered remarks at the High level academic and scientific meetings (#RUSH) on 18 February, held alongside the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Meetings were also held with Indian research institutes such as the NII - National Institute of Immunology and the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (#ILBS), as well as a working meeting with the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/CEFIPRA). This visit took place in the context of the India-France Year of Innovation, inaugurated on 17 February by Emmanuel Macron and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India. 🎙️ In her remarks, Claire Giry highlighted the ANR's commitment to supporting the research component of France’s national AI strategy. Since 2018, the Agency has funded around 800 projects in the field of #AI as part of its Work Programme, with a total funding of €380 million. Under #France2030, 161 projects, programs, and actions operated by the ANR relate, either wholly or in part, to artificial intelligence. Their AI-related work benefits from nearly €938 million in support from the French State. 🤝 Claire Giry also presented the framework agreement established by the ANR and the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India (DST) to continue and strengthen scientific cooperation between France and India. This agreement was signed in early 2024 during the second meeting of the Indo-French Joint Committee of Science and Technology (JCST) and led, in 2025, to a first joint call for proposals on “Green Hydrogen Innovations for Sustainable Energy Solutions”. Projects were selected at the end of 2025. 🚀 The launch on 19 February, of the second ANR-DST bilateral call for proposals was also announced.
