🎂 Yesterday marked the end of my first 10 years in the investment industry. While my younger self is still saving it also marked the introduction of the Belgian tax on capital gains in a country with some of the highest tax rates in the world where the employment rate structurally declined with 5%. 💁🏼♀️ No worries, I still can’t stand inefficiencies and I am still sincerely passionate to make the most out of your savings and investments. From writing investor reports without AI, the early rise of ETFs and the maturing of sustainable investing to the acceleration of regulation and its impacts, the increasing demand for customization, the democratization of retail hammock investing and the market stress during the many periods of unexpected uncertainty. From using my holidays to pass my exams to welcoming more and more women in the industry and managing my own segments and team. 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all my clients and colleagues for creating so many days on which I don’t feel like I’m working. 🥁 And a note of appreciation to my growing list of supervisors for learning me how to walk and for creating a flat environment with room for creative growth. Wim lewi for the critical mind, Charles Symons for overall strategy and technique, Ophélie Mortier for leadership and dedication, Thomas Palmblad for the commercial flair, Roger De Passe for the philosophy, Filip Spitaels for the self-motivation and David BENMUSSA for the challenge. As described by Thierry Muller, it’s beautiful if your marks can continue to inspire the rest of someone’s career. I feel grateful and mostly curious and excited about where the next 10 years will bring me!
