Here’s a simple exercise I often recommend to leaders and teams: Put up the profile photos of your board, senior executives, engineering managers, or conference speakers. Then pause. Really look. 👀 What do you notice? In some cases, there may be a common youthfulness of the group. In others, there’s a striking sameness. Similar hair, similar features, similar “polish.” Sometimes it looks less like a leadership team and more like a call from central casting. This isn’t about right or wrong. It’s about awareness. And the perpetual opportunity we have to widen our perspectives for greater impact. Beauty bias and lookism often show up quietly, shaping who we see as “credible,” “executive,” or “ready,” long before performance and potential enter the conversation. Bigger leadership starts by noticing patterns we’ve been conditioned to overlook...and then intentionally choosing differently. ✨ #LeadBigger #InclusionImpact #PurposefulPluralism
