✨ Happy to share a milestone! ✨ I don’t usually post personal highlights here on LinkedIn — but today feels like an exception. Proud to share that the results of the PORTEC-4a trial have been published in The Lancet Oncology! PORTEC-4a is a large international phase III study evaluating whether molecular profile-based adjuvant treatment can safely guide radiotherapy decisions for women with high-intermediate risk endometrial cancer Key takeaways from the study: • Adjuvant treatment guided by tumour molecular profiling was non-inferior to standard adjuvant vaginal brachytherapy in patients with high-intermediate risk endometrial cancer. • Nearly half (46%) of patients in the molecular profile-guided arm with a favourable molecular profile were able to safely avoid adjuvant vaginal brachytherapy without compromising outcomes. • For women with an unfavourable molecular profile, indicating a higher risk of disease recurrence, pelvic radiotherapy instead of vaginal brachytherapy was associated with improved locoregional control This work represents a truly collaborative international effort, and I am very thankful to all collaborators, and especially my co-authors Nanda Horeweg Dorien Haverkort Nienke Kuijsters Stefan Kommoss Friderike Koppe Marlies Nowee Henrike Westerveld Marianne de Jong Filip Fruhauf Jeltsje C.
