EU: Civil Society in Action. Proud to be part of it! We just finished the #EESC plenary, giving lots of good thinking to the #EuropeanCommission - and the other #EU institutions. At the European Economic and Social Committee, a wonderful group of people is building a Europe that's truly a good place to live. Here is what we worked on: Good input for finalising the #CircularEconomyAct  With European Commission Vice-President #TeresaRibera present, we agreed on our advice (opinion) for the upcoming Circular Economy Act — tackling responsible resource consumption within planetary boundaries. Cillian Lohan as #EESC rapporteur and Laure NICLOT voiced what so many feel: young people would love to start their professional career in #circularity, in this just transition! Let's make sure they can! Strategy for Eastern Border Regions  Powerful was the presence of the young Belarusian democratic leader #SviatlanaTsikhanouskaya. And so, Katrīna Leitāne stressed the importance of youth participation. Europe's future belongs to the next generation too. Critical Raw Materials Act  We adopted an opinion on the #CriticalRawMaterialsAct — speaking out clearly: Europe must deliver on strategic autonomy and sustainability. We cannot repeat the patterns of the old economy. The transition demands a new approach, not old habits in new packaging. #NewEuropeanBauhaus  We adopted an opinion on implementing the New European Bauhaus, rapporteur Rudolf Kolbe — designing the future we want to live in. #EUBlueDeal Accelerator  A strong opinion on the EU Blue Deal Accelerator — reinforced by a speech from European Commissioner Jessika Roswall. Because there is no #peace without water security for all. EU Budget Performance  The opinion on the #EUbudgetExpenditure tracking and performance framework — making sure euros leave #Brussels and deliver results for citizens. Timely and influential, because the #MFF - Multiannual Framework 2028 - 2034 is in the making. And there was even more. If some of these sound interesting?
