Before I began studying analytical psychology, I studied comparative literature and creative writing. It was during those years that many of the questions that continue to shape my work today first sought expression in poetry. This is one of those poems, translated from Swedish. The sun has renounced its mission today, allowing the day to yield to a gray wall of clouds. The sky reveals itself, venturing beyond its horizon. The gray asphalt gives rise to a cold light, a fractured light. As the engrams become dust and ash. Beyond the boundary of consciousness, a constant liberation unfolds in this moment, existence is overcome there. Si vis amari, ama. Meaningful traces of memory fall into the depths of the eye. There are no intersections anymore, everything appears rounded. One has fallen to their knees, making way for imperfection, indispensable reflection, a new theorem. The earth, the source of all nourishment, grows muscular. It bears the body with steadiness and offers it sustenance. Earthly fluid runs in furrows, across generations. Connected to softness, to the subconscious image of the maternal womb. The obligation is this: to bear witness to vitality. In the sand remain the footprints of companionable nights. #Poetry #Writing #PoetryTranslation #Psychology #AnalyticalPsychology
