A #decentralised, #renewable #energysystem is not only #climatefriendly, it is also more #resilient, #sovereign, and #secure. It can help reduce reliance on external sources, fossil-fuel power plants, and provide distributed back-up capacity. #EnergyCommunities are central to making this vision a reality. Through #energysharing and provision of #gridservices, they can also reduce costly grid investments and enable better integration of #renewables. Despite social and political promotion however, Energy Communities are not yet fully embedded in the energy system. Over the past days, the #SmartCORE consortium explored how best to develop #IntegratedEnergyManagement capabilities and strengthen the professionalisation of Energy Communities. Thank you, dear partners, for these trully inspiring days, full of ideas, commitment, and collaboration. Thank you Burgercoöperatie Ecopower for hosting us! ❤️ It is deeply fulfilling to lead this consortium!
