My readership on LinkedIn is ~48,000, & Substack is 0.1% of that. A few observations 👀: 1) The Metrics If I look at the giant numbers and the daily analytics, I won't be able to try new things. The only way I can take this leap (which for now means writing long-form ), is by pretending the numbers DO NOT EXIST. 2) Everything starts out tiny & weird  🌱 By definition, one cannot know how a new experiment will end. If you knew, it would be boring and there would be no point in doing it at all 3) Limits I only have a few good hours of writing in me every day 4) The Giggles Despite its tiny readership, writing on Substack makes me giggle like an idiot (My Substack experiment, Confessions of a Potato in Finance, can be found here: https://lnkd.in/evdBfj4y) 5) The Cringe 🫣 I still cringe when I read my old writings here. After all this time? Always. And I've decided that the moment I stop cringing at my old work, and the moment I stop giggling at my new work, is the moment I have Grown Up in the worst way. It will mean my soul has put on a tiny tie and died. Until that day comes, I see this as a gift to take a chance. To start small. And for today, just to be a potato.
