There are programmes you support, and there are programmes that feel like they were built for the exact work your heart is set on. This is the latter. As Programme Director of the SAWEA Management Development Programme, working alongside Lawrence Dube and Michaela Mahes (Master of Management) together with the excellent team at Wits Business School, I have the privilege of walking with this 2026 cohort — and yes, it is an all-women cohort in the energy sector. Let that sit for a moment. Women stepping into the space where technical expertise meets executive decision-making, in an industry shaping South Africa's energy future. This is exactly where economic empowerment becomes real — not as a slogan, but as a pipeline of capable women claiming their seats at the table. Leadership starts from within, and over the coming months these women will discover just how much strength they already carry. I am proud to be part of their journey, and I cannot wait to see where they lead us next. 👏
