Those summer nights ☀️ Most of us don’t lack ambition. We lack the courage to name what’s actually holding us back. That fear. Last night we hung out in a low key community garden for our SEED Network Q2 gathering, where coach and leadership advisor Gunhild Zacher Tibu and social entrepreneur, musician and creative force Veronica D'Souza challenged us to look inward, and not upward. Gunhild opened with a provocation rooted in Hartmut Rosa’s question: what actually makes your life a good life? She introduced us to the Heroine’s Journey by Maureen Murdock’s answer to the 1949 Hero’s Journey, and she invited us to explore the tension between masculine and feminine energies in how we build our lives. Not as a binary, but as an honest question: what intrinsically feels right for me? Veronica then shared a life that answered that question through action. From launching a menstrual cup initiative in Kenya (and learning that the real problem wasn’t the product but the questions they asked), to building CARCEL, a fashion brand rooted in fairness, sourced from women in jails in Peru, to teaching herself to produce music at age 40. What tied it all together wasn’t fearlessness. It was learning to work with fear. Her framework stayed with me: 🌱 Write down your fear. Name it. 🌱 Ask what your older self would think of it. 🌱Ask what your child self would do with it. Fear is a muscle. The more you work it, the more it works for you. She closed with an exercise I’m still sitting with: Write down three moments where you felt pure passion and total freedom; then sit with the feeling they bring up. Let that feeling meet the wisdom of your older self. Together, those two voices are your compass for what deserves your energy and focus 🧭 Tonight’s lessons: stay rooted in something true (your childish passion). Meet your fear with curiosity, and let it work with you, not against you. Strive to be the version of yourself that your old self be proud of. Thanks Veronica and Gunhild Zacher Tibu 🙏🏻 your experience, perspectives and genuine passion created a special room to be vulnerable in. And thanks to the organisers Alice, Julie, Mathilde and Annette 🫶🏻 fab evening 🏹 Marie-Louise, Isabella, Olivia, Marthe, Cecilie, Eva, Sarah, Astrid, Julie 🌱☀️ #SeedNetwork #LeadershipDevelopment #CareerGrowth #WomenInBusiness #HeroinesJourney #SocialEntrepreneurship #Learning #NetworkIsYourNetWorth
