Some countries reveal themselves to you slowly. - Highly competitive engineering entrance exams. - An economy full of momentum and contradictions. - Plenty of challenges, but no shortage of ambition. - Strong family ties that shape how people work and live. - Entire states and sub-economies reliant on sacred rivers. - And, incredible mangoes and other tropical fruits. If you thought I was describing India, I wouldn’t blame you. But this is Brazil. My first real exposure to Brazil was during my time at Microsoft, when I had the opportunity to work closely with engineers from Brazil. What stood out immediately wasn’t just technical depth, it was resilience, curiosity, and a quiet pride in craft. People who inspired with their leadership, took ownership, learned fast and showed the path, and cared deeply about the work and the people around them. Those experiences stayed with me. I’m still grateful for the mentors, colleagues and friends from that chapter, many of whom I learned a great deal from. Thanks so much Ricardo Bianchini, Leonardo Nunes, Sara Malvar, Roberto Santos, Roberto de Moura Estevão Filho, Renato Luiz de Freitas Cunha, PhD, Eduardo Rocha Rodrigues, Rafael Padilha, so many more! So it feels especially meaningful to welcome our new teammates in Brazil to Adopt AI. We’re building systems that need careful thinking, good judgment, and people who are comfortable working through complexity. Brazil has no shortage of that talent. I’m excited about what we’ll build together and confident that Adopt will grow strong roots here. Bem-vindos à Adopt João Sperandio and Adryann Millos. We’re glad you’re here.
