The FDA approval of Lumvoa™ (veligrotug-vvze) marks a significant milestone in the treatment of thyroid eye disease (TED). Lumvoa is a fully antagonistic monoclonal antibody targeting the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R), a key driver of the inflammatory and tissue remodeling processes underlying TED. Supported by positive results from the pivotal Phase 3 THRIVE and THRIVE-2 trials, Lumvoa demonstrated clinically meaningful improvements in proptosis, diplopia, and overall disease activity in patients with both active and chronic TED. This approval expands the therapeutic landscape for TED and further validates IGF-1R inhibition as a foundational strategy in the management of this debilitating autoimmune disorder. #ThyroidEyeDisease #TED #GravesDisease #Lumvoa #Veligrotug #IGF1R #Endocrinology #Ophthalmology #AutoimmuneDisease #PrecisionMedicine #Biologics #DrugDevelopment #ClinicalTrials #TranslationalMedicine #Immunology #RareDisease #MedicalEducation #ScienceEducation #PharmaNews #FDAApproval #Animedix
