PastureScapes travels to Nepal π³π΅ β a documentary on pastoral migration in the Himalayas πΏ The PastureScapes series is back! On Thursday, 28 May, 18:30β20:30, we will be screening "Ashoj 5 ko Katha" at the Kleine Aula, Nordcampus in Witzenhausen. The documentary follows a herding community in Nepal π³π΅ during their six-month stay on Himalayan pastures and accompanies them on their traditional return home in autumn, beginning on the date of Asoj 5. It offers a close look at how climate, geography, and established routines shape the everyday life of these pastoralists. The film is a vivid example of a livelihood built around seasonal mobility and cultural continuity π¬. After the screening, we welcome you to join the organising team for an interactive discussion over juice and cookies. Please bring your own cup β. Online participation is also possible: scan the QR code on the flyer to join the meeting. As always: all of you are welcome, i.e. students, staff, and guests from outside the university alike! The #PastureScapes series is supported by the German Institute for Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture (DITSL), #CELEP, and VΓ©tΓ©rinaires Sans FrontiΓ¨res - Dierenartsen Zonder Grenzen Belgium π€. π Thursday, 28 May | 18:30β20:30 π Kleine Aula, Nordcampus, Witzenhausen #Pastoralism #Rangelands #IYRP2026 #SeasonalMigration #LivestockSystems #Nepal #Himalayas #Ashoj5 #UniversityOfKassel
