Non-Domestic Rates Bills have been issued from 9 April 2026 and we want to let you know about the new rates relief that are now in effect. Businesses in retail and leisure could be eligible for up to 15% rates relief from their annual rates bill. This relief will be available for three years from 2026-27 to 2028-29. Retail and Leisure Rates Relief – for businesses with a rateable value of up to and including £100,000 which operate in the following categories, may be eligible: • bed and breakfast accommodation or guest house • camping site • caravan • caravan site • chalet, holiday hut and bothy • self-catering holiday accommodation (short-term let licence is required) • timeshare accommodation • market (e.g. auction house) • retail shop • leisure (e.g. cinema, gym or tourist attraction) • service providers (e.g. hair & beauty) • massage parlour or health spa • funeral parlour • travel agency • meeting, event or activity space (e.g. venue for hire for events or activities) • use as a facility for youth organisations (scout hut) If your business is already in receipt of 100% relief, for example, 100% Small Business Bonus, you should not apply for Retail, Hospitality and Leisure relief.
