The International Day for Women in Maritime 2026 marks an occasion to recognise the presence and impact of women serving across all ranks of the maritime profession. The Angelicoussis Group’s established practice is to support individuals from the earliest stages of their careers. This year’s theme, “From Policy to Practice: Advancing Gender Equality for Maritime Excellence,” is reflected in our approach. Promoting gender equality is evident in how talent is developed and entrusted with responsibility, at sea and ashore. Investment in the training and progression of female cadets is a practical response to the evolving demands of this dynamic profession. Over the past year, the proportion of female cadets in our fleet has risen to 12,6%, demonstrating tangible progress in our efforts. Since 2017, women have held the highest seafaring ranks and have also progressed into senior shore‑based positions, reflecting the Group’s commitment to development and promotion. Women also play a significant role across the Angelicoussis Group’s shore-based organisation, where female representation reaches nearly 40% of office personnel. They contribute across operations, technical services, HSQE, crewing, and other corporate functions. Furthermore, female professionals are increasingly represented in key leadership and decision-making positions throughout the Group, reflecting our strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the continued advancement of women within the maritime industry. Our focus remains on creating equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender, enabling every individual to grow and excel. Supporting our people is what propels the Group forward. #WomenInMaritimeDay #MaritimePolicytoPractice #AngelicoussisGroup #MaranDry #MaranGas #MaranTankers #MaranSuttleTankers
