Construction of the new stator for Norway’s largest run-of-river hydroelectric power plant, Vamma 11, is well underway. “Generator specialists from ANDRITZ travelled to Vamma Hydropower Plant to admire and learn more about this impressive craftsmanship — a giant puzzle with countless small details. ANDRITZ supplies generators throughout every phase of a generator’s lifecycle. We can deliver anything from a few spare parts to a complete new large-scale generator. No project is too small, and none too large.” - Ella Brodtkorb, Product Group Manager Generator (translated from Norwegian). The unit was originally commissioned in 1971 and is now undergoing a major upgrade, increasing capacity from 120 to 140 MVA. Hafslund, Norway’s second-largest power producer, has awarded ANDRITZ HYDRO contracts for the delivery of a new runner, a new turbine governor, new intake gates, as well as the upgrade and rehabilitation of the generator – including delivery and installation of a new stator. Thanks to Hafslund for the warm welcome at Vamma and the pleasant tour of this historic facility. We look forward to continuing our cooperation on this and other projects. #Hydropower #RenewableEnergy #modernization #generator #ANDRITZ
