💼 Two days. One case. Endless insight. This week, I attended the Spring into Deloitte Audit & Tax Insight Programme. It was a two-day experience that delved into professional services, surrounded by talented peers and inspiring Deloitte professionals. 🎯 The Challenge: A Live Case Study We worked with an amazing team - Alister W., Bella Christodoulou, Dylan Plumbley, Louise McKenzie, Saahat Satyam, Soumya Ghosh, and Syed Nofil Hussain Shah - on a live case study for a renewable energy client. The challenge was intense but rewarding, enhancing my commercial awareness, strategic thinking, and communication under pressure. The programme provided a wealth of knowledge, covering everything from tax strategy to Deloitte's innovation and DEI initiatives. ✨ Key Insights: One standout session was with Catriona Gibb, who explored the role of strategic tax planning in shaping business decisions, particularly through a real-time demerger case study. Gemma Marshall shared her journey advising multinational corporations, emphasising the importance of proactive, curious, and clear tax strategies. Her insights into simplifying complex issues for clients were invaluable. We also learned about PairD, Deloitte's internal AI platform, designed to automate routine tasks and empower professionals to focus on higher-level work. Niall Dunleavy provided valuable insights into Deloitte's comprehensive tax services, emphasising the importance of adaptability and technical expertise in an ever-evolving landscape. The programme also highlighted Deloitte's commitment to professional development, with full sponsorship for ACA and CTA qualifications. A session on DEI featuring Megan Morris, Hannah Eastham, Elliot Orsborn, and Mae T showcased how diversity and inclusion are integral to Deloitte's culture. Finally, Matt Smith wrapped up with a discussion on the evolving role of audit in maintaining trust and credibility, and how blending technical expertise with soft skills is essential for providing exceptional client service. I’m incredibly grateful to the Deloitte Early Careers team for curating such a transformative experience. The insights shared throughout the programme, combined with the opportunity to collaborate with talented individuals, have deepened my passion for professional services and provided me with new tools to excel in this field.
