Manufacturing on the Road, Part #5 Hidden in Plain Sight This isn't unique to Missouri, Washington, or any other state, but after traveling through countless towns on our journey out west and spending some time in a new area, I was reminded of something that's easily overlooked. It doesn't matter if it's a town of 1,000 or a city of 1 million. Somewhere nearby, there's at least one manufacturer with deep roots, strong community ties, and a proven track record of supporting the local economy, creating opportunities for families, and giving back in ways most people never see. You won't find them in towering office buildings or with flashy business signs. They're often tucked away in a warehouse downtown or in an industrial park on the outskirts of town, quietly doing what they've always done: making products, creating jobs, driving innovation, and generating millions of dollars in economic impact. All while remaining hidden in plain sight. Manufacturers don't usually seek the spotlight (we've heard they "prefer to fly under the radar" countless times). They simply show up every day, get to work, and keep our communities moving forward. That's why we, the Missouri Association of Manufacturers, are proud to promote and advocate for our members. Their impact reaches far beyond the factory floor, even if it's not always obvious at first glance. It's the kind of impact that's always worth celebrating.
