Chen Ning Yang, a Nobel Prize winning physicist, once tried to understand a deep math idea called fiber bundles. A mathematician gave him a famous book on the topic. After reading it for a couple of hours, Yang felt completely lost and joked: There are only two types of modern math books: those you cannot read past the first page and those you cannot understand past the first sentence.
