As a litmus test of a brand’s rigour, ingenuity and passion the annual Le Mans 24 Hours race takes some beating! Cars that compete in the gruelling French endurance marathon need to be steely enough to potentially cover over 3,000 miles at three-figure speeds between green light and chequered flag, ideally without missing a beat and often in ‘four seasons in one day’ weather. We rose to the challenge back in 1999 with our first R8 LMP1 cars, and 18 years later we respectfully bowed out having achieved 13 victories using FSI, TFSI, TDI and e-tron hybrid power – only our sister brand Porsche can lay claim to more. Now our plan for a Le Mans comeback in the new LMDh hybrid category is underway – we’ll contest the 2023 season with an all-new car that should be ready to roll in prototype form early next year. I’m pretty confident it will leave a lasting impression! #audi #audisport #vorsprung #weareaudi #FutureIsAnAttitude #consistentlyaudi #movingforward
