Any excuse for a departure from reality has welcome this year, so why not let your mind wander to an outlandish fully autonomous electric off-roader with drones for headlights? Or a fearsome-looking 16-cylinder supercar inspired by our 1930s Grand Prix racers and our TT Coupé? Or maybe a roadgoing electric two-seater based on our Le Mans-winning R18 e-tron with 700 horsepower and the ability to touch 62mph in about two seconds? Over the years all of these visionary concepts and more have not only crossed the minds of our designers, but also the divide from their drawing boards to metallic magnificence on a motor show stage.
