The final hoardings are coming down at the former Leo’s Bar / Thorp’s restaurant building on Nevill Street in Southport town centre and it’s looking good! There’s a bar and two other commercial units due to move into the ground floor - excited to see who’s moving in - with six new apartments on the upper floors of this beautiful art deco building. This has been one of the main schemes supported by the Southport Townscape Heritage Partnership and it’s making such a positive difference to Nevill Street. STHP has also backed developers in the transformation of the building on the corner of Lord Street and Bold Street; the former Pineapple Park restaurant; and some shops on Bold Street. Would love to see STHP being extended to support the conversion of other heritage buildings in Southport!
