Engineered in Germany 🇩🇪 In recent years, much of the discussion around industrial competitiveness has focused on manufacturing costs and global competition. But perhaps we are asking the wrong question. Germany’s greatest strength has never been low-cost production. Our strength has always been engineering. In industries such as wind energy, mining and bulk material handling, decades of operational experience have created a level of expertise that cannot simply be copied. Designing a machine is one thing. Understanding why it fails after 20 years in operation is something entirely different. Root cause analysis. Reliability engineering. Life cycle optimization. Failure prevention. Asset integrity. These capabilities are built on experience accumulated over generations of engineers, operators and technicians. As global manufacturing continues to shift, I believe we should place even greater emphasis on what truly differentiates us: Engineering excellence. Perhaps the label of the future is not only: Made in Germany but increasingly: Engineered in Germany.
