As a Romani Slovak, I often feel misunderstood—too often lumped into simplistic categories like “white,” when our identity is so much richer and unique. It’s true: we are not defined by borders or nationalities but by a shared history, culture, and resilience. I deeply appreciate how you highlighted the rich cultural contributions of the Roma people, from music to crafts, and the profound symbolism of the Roma flag. These stories matter, and they deserve to be told and remembered. It’s important that more people recognize the struggles Roma have faced for centuries, as well as the beauty and strength of our community. At the end of the day, we are all travelers, all people searching for belonging and understanding. Some of us have found it while seeking love or even a career.
