This week I was in Dublin at the ICON-S Conference to present a new research on the #EUSpaceAct and on the #sustainability requirements for the space industry. The usual narrative on how the EU Space Act is going to stifle the industry seems less convincing after delving into the matter. π π‘ Looking at what is already happening in national space legislations, international soft laws and in other industrial sectors within the EU, the sustainability requirements established in the EU Space Act do not appear as damaging to space operators as they are presented. That said, the concerns raised by the space industry can be tackled with regulatory solutions, from tenders conditions, to taxation incentives, to market developments. I look forward to publishing this research in a full paper in the coming months! π π #EUSpaceAct #ICON #SpaceLaw #Sustainability
