This post concludes our case study series on building a digital therapy platform for a #PE-backed outpatient rehabilitation provider.   1️⃣ License to operate Our project had a key outcome – getting the regulatory accreditation (the license to operate and monetize the platform). This goal guided and focused our develop efforts over 9 months. Proving readiness to the regulator required not just functional software, but also required structured, evidence-based user testing. To achieve these proof points, patients tested the platform in a live, multi-center online study, – generating direct feedback on real user experience. We directed these insights right back into the development process, refining the product without losing speed. Working in this pragmatic, iterative fashion, we delivered functional proof points needed to convince the regulator and accelerate the roll-out.   2️⃣ Go-Live and roll-out We equipped the centers with playbook for a six-week training, onboarding and setup phase. Notably, rather than impose a top-down roll-out sequence, we encouraged the centers to go live based on readiness and business need. We were pleased that 3 centers joined in parallel, signaling strong buy-in and validated the program’s onboarding approach.   3️⃣ Capability Handover By Go-Live, our program delivered on a broad range of goals: ✅ Regulatory accreditation secured ✅ Platform live in 3 pilot centers ✅ 700+ proprietary therapy content items uploaded ✅ Rollout cadence and KPIs aligned across centers ✅ Permanent platform team established ✅ Phased handover to internal product owners completed The handover to the organization was the final, decisive step. We did not hand over just a product, but a full #capability to operate and develop it independently. Our best-practices in this phase: 👉 Test early and iterate fast – multi-center testing with real patients close the gap between development and operational reality, accelerating Go-Live 👉 Design rollout for buy-in, not for instant scale – a playbook-driven, center-by-center approach will reduce the risk and boost the buy-in   👉 Hand over capability, not just a product – embedding a permanent internal team from the outset transforms the project outcome into a lasting organizational asset Christoph Schierle Anding & Company #PrivateEquity #NewBusinessBuilding #Healthcare #ValueCreation #DigitalHealth #PlatformBuild #BuyVsBuild #HealthcareInnovation #Rollout #MVP
