Low risk, no performance fee, and a comparatively high return are features that make SEB’s relatively new Nordic bond fund attractive to investors, the three-man team managing the fund tells AMWatch in an interview. Michael Denbæk, Emil Rode (Emil R.), and Tormod Hagen use leverage to boost the fund’s returns, and they adopt a different approach than some of the other funds that may be considered the main competitors to SEB’s new product. “We have decided to use what we consider the engine of many of the competing funds. We only focus on what we know generates the majority of returns. We make it simple and transparent by only using that engine,” Denbæk, who is SEB’s head of fixed income in Denmark, says. The fund caters to institutional investors and has generated an AUM of approx. DKK 1bn (EUR 133.8m) so far, the majority coming from seed investor Lærernes Pension. #assetmanagement #assetmanager #fundmanagement #fundmanager #fixedincome #bondmarket #investments #financialmarkets #bankingindustry #Nordic https://lnkd.in/edQm9g4K
