We all are familiar with the concept of WISDOM OF CROWD; in fact, a very popular abstract idea within the data science fraternity which lends itself to the Random Forest learning algorithm. What lies underneath the WISDOM of the crowd is the theorem known as the DIVERSITY PREDICTION THEOREM, and it is a mathematical identity, which means this equation will always hold true. Dissecting it a little bit to understand what may lead to the MADNESS OF CROWD, (important to understand within our current information overloaded ecosystem). And as it turns out it is right there highlighted in the nomenclature = DIVERSITY. We can only escape MADNESS and turn it to WISDOM of the Crowd as long as we value the importance of Diversity - in our world view, in our thought process, in the decisions we take and how we make those decisions.
