My dad was always playing The Beatles, Bee Gees and other music from the 60s and 70s, and I just became infatuated with music. I even got named after band member Maurice Gibbs from the BeeGees! Every summer holiday we would drive to the south of France and I still see my 6 year old self in the backseat of the car, listening to Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and New Kids On The Block for hours on end. Then when we had arrived, I would go on countless strolls around the campsite, just so I could enjoy the music on my walkman. I would never really sing out loud, but I loved a good lip-sync. On my grandparents’ 25th wedding anniversary I gave a little lip-sync show on top of their dinner table. Yep, the crowd was very pleased. But I wouldn’t just keep my talent for holidays and anniversaries - my family could definitely expect some lip-syncing action from me on an ordinary day at home as well. In the photo you see a real life performance of me singing Peter Koelewijn’s β€˜Kom Van Dat Dak Af’, looking pretty damn fly, am I right?” #sonicbranding
