I am very happy – and a little sad – to share an important professional milestone with you. After four incredible years as Global Business Line Manager for Instrumentation at ABB’s Measurement & Analytics division, I will start a new and exciting chapter as President of the Traction Division in ABB’s Motion Business Area. But before I dive into this new opportunity, I would like to reflect on my time with the Instrumentation team at ABB. The past four years have been nothing short of exciting and full of learning for me. It’s been a privilege to lead an organization of such passionate and competent colleagues, dedicated to creating value for our customers with their application expertise and know-how. Together we went from strength to strength. This team has taught me that nothing is impossible. We worked side by side when things were hard, weathered storms together, but never lost sight of our common goal. Below I am proud to share some of the achievements made possible by our collaboration across continents and a culture of mutual respect: 🙌 Streamlining our Pressure and Electromagnetic Flowmeter portfolios to better meet customer needs. 🙌 Introducing our first Ethernet-APL-enabled instrumentation – the Swirl and Vortex flowmeters, which also became the first with Ethernet-APL conformity certification from the global standards organization FieldComm Group. 🙌 Launching ABB’s first instrumentation product, the P-300 pressure transmitter, with an Environmental Product Declaration, validating its environmental performance against current regulations. 🙌 Taking our digital solutions to the next level, for example with the launch of the ABB Ability™ SmartMaster, a solution for fleet-wide remote verification. 🙌 Unveiling the new, high accuracy flowmeter calibration facility in Minden, Germany, with the aim of increasing production capacity and serving our customers better. 🙌 Transforming our Ossuccio factory warehouse operation from a manual activity to a fully automated operation. 🙌 Marking the 20th anniversary of our instrumentation factory in Shanghai and supporting the rapid growth of the automation market in China. 🙌 Signing successful partnerships and frame agreements, for example with Shell, Bilfinger and RMG. 🙌 Winning “Smart Project of the Year” at the prestigious Global Water Award for our collaboration with Wellington Water in New Zealand for making their network more resilient and future ready. 🙌 Taking home several Instrumentation Excellence Awards including for “Manufacturer of the Year” and “Test and Measurement Product of the Year”. Next month I will start in my new role in ABB’s Motion Business Area. For now: A heartfelt thank you to my peers in the Measurement & Analytics division and most of all, the amazing Instrumentation team! I now pass on the baton to Jacques Mulbert, President of ABB’s Measurement & Analytics division, who will lead our Instrumentation Business Line in the next chapter.
