I am thrilled to see Equinor confirming the performance and value of ABB’s non-invasive temperature sensor, NINVA, for use on their offshore platforms. This is a vital step to safer, simpler, and significantly more cost-effective temperature measurement in the Norwegian oil fields. Equinor tested NINVA for six months on Johan Sverdrup, the third largest oil field on the Norwegian continental shelf, and a major supplier of energy to Europe. Reliable, high accuracy temperature measurement is crucial in all stages of oil production and especially in challenging offshore conditions such as those in the North Sea. The rapidly growing use of non-invasive temperature measurement in the industry is a testament to the true value of our innovations.
