Last week, we shared how the AMES Habitat Fund is turning ideas into ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ท๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐˜€. This is one of them. The ๐—š๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—š๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜€ โ€” ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น-๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ-๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜ at the Mkambati Nature Reserve โ€” have now officially completed their training. What makes this unit special goes beyond conservation: all nine rangers come directly from the surrounding communities. Many of them had no formal work experience before this journey began. ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†, ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฑ, ๐—ฒ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜† ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ถ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ป ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ. In the final phase of their training, they were supported by the Black Mambas Anti-Poaching Unit, a powerful example of what is possible when knowledge and experience are passed on.
